New one-stop portal for government's business support
As part of changes to business support made in the May federal Budget, the Department of Industry’s services will be accessed via a new one-stop web portal called the Single Business Service.
The portal, which commenced operation on 1 July 2014, is designed to streamline the way businesses access industry information and services by consolidating them.
Single Business Service assistance is available to all Australian businesses and is made up of a consolidated online presence, a contact centre and a face-to-face business facilitation network to link interested businesses with relevant programs and services.
As a part of this initiative, the following websites have been merged into a consolidated Single Business Service website at www.business.gov.au:
- AusIndustry (www.ausindustry.gov.au)
- Enterprise Connect (www.enterpriseconnect.gov.au)
- Commercialisation Australia (www.commercialisationaustralia.gov.au)
- Skills Connect (www.skillsconnect.gov.au)
- Cooperative Research Centres (www.crc.gov.au)
The new Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Programme and information about the Research and Development Tax Incentive are also to be delivered by the Single Business Service.
