International Union for the Study of Social Insects international congress
[12 July, 2014 - 17 July, 2014]
The Australasian section of the International Union for the Study of Social Insects (IUSSI) will host the union's 17th international congress (IUSSI14) in Cairns from 13-18 July 2014. At this time when the declining health of the world's pollinators is of increasing concern, the conference will be a high-profile international event.
The congress will welcome world leaders in the study of social insects (ants, wasps, bees and termites) and many of the key players from the fields of entomology, genetics, behaviour and evolutionary biology more broadly.
It will be of interest to research scientists, university teachers, extension specialists, pest management specialists, policy-makers and insect enthusiasts from throughout the world. At least 700 delegates are expected to attend.
The event will feature a number of social functions and field trips before, during and after the congress so that all participants will find the experience educational, enjoyable and stimulating.
Exhibition and sponsorship opportunities are now available.
